  • Jug Rock is a massive 60 foot high sandstone formation may be viewed by a walk along a 60 yard woodland path from the marked roadside turnout, west of Shoals on US Highway 50.
  • The Pinnacle (directly across from the cabin) is a geological rock formation along a cliff overlooking the East Fork of the White River at Shoals. Views of the valley at the top of the Pinnacle are worth the uphill hike to this “tower of rock”.
  • House Rock (1/4mile north of the cabin) is where Indians and the first settlers used the “rock houses” as meeting places, conventions centers of their day. It is formed by two several hundred-ton sandstone blocks slipping on the weak underlying foundation and lodging upon each other. This particular formation is the greatest of the cave shelters along the White River.
  • Bluffs of Beaver Bend are a peninsula of land containing over a mile of river frontage along the White River with a varied terrain and unusual diversity.
  • Spout Springs is a cold and clear water continues to flow from the ground at Spout Springs.
  • Williams Dam & Covered Bridge formerly a site of a power plant, the Williams dam is still in place holding the White River back and raising the water level to provide drinking water for Bedford and Mitchell. The raised water level also provides boating and fishing for sportsmen. South of the dam, just down the road, is the wooden covered bridge. In 1981, the bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
  • Hindostan Falls is the first county seat of Martin County, is worth visiting to view the low, wide waterfall and to learn the social history of the former village of Hindostan Falls.
  • Martin State Forest – visitor may discover many hiking trails, nature studies, wild foraging, hunting, picnicking, shelter houses and playgrounds.
  • Blue Spring Caverns take you below the surface to explore what lies below. Tour guides pilot custom tour boats along the course of a subterranean river for over a mile, pointing out the natural forces that are yet at work creating great chambers below the rolling hills.
  • Spring Mill State Park is taking a step back in time to the early 1860’s, from the pioneer village with 20 historical structures, rock and cave exploring to visiting the Virgil I. “Gus” Grissom Memorial.
  • Lakeview Golf Course is located at West Boggs Lake; this 9-hole course has a beautiful view of the lake.
  • French Lick Golf course has the rolling hills of southern Indiana that provide a beautiful yet challenging golf destination.
  • French Lick Casino is a 51,000 square foot Vegas-style gaming facility all on one floor with soaring 27-foot ceilings. A newly expanded non-smoking gaming area offers the latest state-of-the-art slot machines and live-action blackjack, roulette and craps tables.
  • French Lick Winery has award-winning wines that are produced on site. Visitors can observe our production facility via observation windows in our tasting room. They have received over 250 medals in state, national and international competitions.
  • French Lick Indoor Karting the most popular option is the “arrive & drive” racing. Arrive & drive racing is an 8 minute heat race. Adults – $12, juniors – $10 plus $2 per person for the helmet head-sock.
  • Indiana Railway Museum located in French Lick, IN. You will ride aboard historic pieces of rail equipment on a 1-3/4hour, 20mile road rail ride. While on your journey the train will pass through portions of the Hoosier National Forest, the 2200-foot Burton Tunnel and past impressive limestone rock cuts. Special trips are scheduled through-out the year including the Haunted Train Ride and Polar Express Train Ride!
  • Paoli Peaks attracts skiers and snowboarders from miles around. They offer lessons for beginners and snow tubing.
  • Big Splash Adventures lets you enjoy 40,000 Square Feet of Water Park Fun! No weather worry, our water park is enclosed in a beautiful glass structure – one of the few retractable roof water parks in the world!
